Blog Post 1: Histography

I wanted to talk about Histography, a website that explores history through Wikipedia pages. Some of the advantages of this website are that it is very user friendly, where anyone can log on and discover something new. Histography is also pretty extensive in what it covers and can reach. However, because it sources its information from Wikipedia, it could lead someone to an unreliable resource and incorrect information. This site appears to be a gateway to other sites, where it links you out to another webpage, specifically a Wikipedia page. Histography is very easy to navigate and very easy to understand, although if you are looking for a very specific topic it could be difficult to find it. If I created this site, I would have included a search bar to look up specific topics so you can find them and see them in comparison to the rest of the timeline. I think Histography could be very interesting as a jumping off point if you were looking for a topic for a research paper in a specific time, and guides you to a Wikipedia page that hopefully also links you out to more valid resources.
